Puerto Rico Trip Part 1

Hello loves,

Oh my oh my, am I overdue for a new blog post! It has been quite the hectic month. Ever since Ramadan came to an end, things at work kicked in rapidly. Most of my time went into preparing for this 8 day trip over to Puerto Rico. What an astounding experience it was. I felt as if I was back home, overseas, in the Middle East. 4 out of those 8 days were spent working, the main reason why we went out to Puerto Rico, the other 4 days was vacation fun! During this vacationing time, we checked into a resort right on the beach! What a beautiful sight to wake up to every morning. Most of the time I just wanted to sit on the sand, or in the hammocks and rest peacefully!

However, the fun did not stop at the resort! By far my most favorite and memorable part of the trip was our stop at El Morro, Old San Juan. If you ever decide to vacation out in Puerto Rico, you must, I repeat MUST, put El Morro on your list of activities to do, all the way on top of that list! El Morro San Juan was an old fort built back in the 1500's to protect the Puerto Ricans from invaders attempting to take over the Island. I learned a lot in the couple of hours we spent out there. I am huge on sight seeing and historical spots, so this was absolutely baffling to me and I enjoyed every minute of it, including the historical facts that was told to us by a great friend.

I would go on and on about the rest of our amazing trip, but I will leave the rest for Part 2!

Tata for now, loves!

What a Eid...

Bonjour loves,

Hope all is well! It has been quite the crazy month, I say! Subhanallah it feels like Ramadan started just yesterday, and now webid it ado. Inshallah we live to see another beautiful month like this. As we say our farewells to Ramadan, we welcome the wonderful celebrations of Eid. A time to share with our family and loved ones. Alhamdulillah this Eid has been a blessing for my family and I. Although times of struggle will always be around, we managed to push the troubles to the side and blissfully enjoy this joyous holiday! I began my day heading out to the prayer at Toyota Park in Chicago, as I always do every Eid. This year was different, however, I was at the stands helping our online radio: Yahala Voice (www.yahalavoice.com) promote to all the Muslim community members attending the prayer. I must say, we had quite a blast! What a wonderful way to start the day. Afterwards, there was a list of quick errands to run before the family and I headed out to Olive Garden for lunch/dinner. Time afterwards was spent at my sister's house opening up gifts for the children. Then hoooooome sweet home and relaxation time! Twas a wonderfully amazing day, and still has yet to end. I truly hope everyone was able to spend their holidays with their families and loved ones and enjoying it as much as I have, if not for. Many wishes goes out to my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters and inshAllah a blessed and wonderful Eid to you all! I have attached below pictures of my Eid outfit and how I went about my day.

Much love,
La Bella

Shopping Spree!

Bonjour loves,

So yet another gloomy day in Chicago, but again I won't let that destroy my mood! This past week has been spent shopping shopping shopping! Basically getting ready for my trip to Puerto Rico in mid August! I am really excited but I was in desperate need of clothes to take with me on this 9 day trip. The outfit I have below is basically from Forever21, with the exception of the scarf and shoes. Scarf is from Aldo and shoes are from Aerosoles. Enjoy. :)

The Casual and Comfy Day! :)

Bonjour loves,

Today has been quite an energetic, pleasant day! This week however, has been extremely jam packed and hectic! I do want to get into the story behind my upcoming project(s) and when it will launch, but I will save that for a little later down the line. But keep yourself anticipated, my hijab line is in the making and will INSHALLAH launch by the end of the summer! In the meantime, enjoy the OOTD of the day. Casual cardigan, loose fitted pattern pants, and a nice, ruffly white top with a white belt. This outfit does not require everything I am wearing to the point, it's simple enough to mix and match! Get creative and have fun! :)

Au Revoir, loves!

Chicago City Life!

Bonjour loves,

Today was quite the adventurous day! Had iftar out with my lovely friends, downtown of Chicago (a place where I always love to be). I'm often a quiet, to myself type of girl, but I would love to live up north in the city, specifically downtown. It's too quiet and dead by the suburbs. I love the action and life the city holds. Inshallah one day, but for now here are some pictures I took enjoying my day out and taking much advantage of this nice weather while it lasts!
